Median

This filter is formed, depending on the settings, from n neighbouring points {n = (3; 5; 7; ...)}. Therefore, the points are ordered ascendingly and subsequently, the Mean value is used as median. The median filter is used with the line triangulation for example with profiles presenting some "outliers" as the information about profil points out of line influence the median only slightly.
Example: 3;5;6;10;27 --> Median  6 --> Average = 10.2
The outlier "27" changes the median hardly but the Average considerably.
