Laser distance sensors from the optoNCDT ILR3800 series monitor the winding and unwinding of coils. As the diameter continuously increases or decreases respectively, the distance between the coil and the sensor changes.

This change is monitored reliably and precisely by the sensors. The integrated AUTO measurement mode enables reliable detection even on reflective surfaces and mat coatings. This means that both coated and uncoated films can be monitored.
