The optoNCDT 1220 laser sensors are used for precise and high-resolution measurements. Due to their compact design and low weight, they are ideal for measurement tasks in factory automation and for integration into machines and systems. The optoNCDT series laser sensors offer various interface options, including RS422, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET. The advanced IO-Link interface, which is available right now, is new in Micro-Epsilon’s optoNCDT 1220 series.

IO-Link is a fieldbus-independent interface and enables digital and bidirectional point-to-point communication. Users can easily integrate devices with IO-Link into various fieldbus and automation systems. Data recorded by these devices can be easily transferred to a cloud or higher-level systems via an IO-Link master. Companies benefit from low costs due to simple installation, low programming effort thanks to predefined function blocks, and fast commissioning. In addition, comprehensive diagnostic information down to sensor level ensures easy troubleshooting.

The optoNCDT 1220 sensors offer an outstanding price-performance ratio and high measurement accuracy with a measuring rate of up to 2 kHz. They are ideal for measuring board contours in sawmills, for example, and at the same time minimize waste due to precise measurements. Thanks to modern Active Surface Compensation, they quickly compensate for different reflections and ensure a uniform distance signal. Their compact design and the integrated controller make them easy to integrate into machines, even where space is limited.
